Digital Versatile Discs (DVD) are the preferred format for standard definition consumer distributions. TPEX offers DVD mastering, duplication, and replication services in NTSC and PAL. We offer DVD mastering from consumer formats (VHS, SVHS, DV) and professional formats (HDCAM, DVC-PRO HD, HDV, Compliant Files, Digital Betacam, Betacam SX, Betacam IMX, Betacam SP, DV-CAM, DVC-PRO (24p & 30i), DV, ¾”, 1”). Additional charges will apply for HD formats.
Capturing and encoding from tape-based formats requires an additional fee. Alternately, you may provide digital files in the following formats:
- Video: MPEG-2, AVC, VC-1, QT (MOV)
- Audio: AIFF, AC3 (Dolby Digital), WAV, MP1, MP2, MP3, ABS, MPA
TPEX recommends a Variable Bit Rate of 4,000 mbps to 7,500 mbps for DVD masters. Higher bit rates are available, but compatibility issues relating to buffering may create video choppiness and lock down.
TPEX offers the following DVD mastering options:
- Auto Start and Stop
- Auto Start to Main Menu (Sub-Menus available) and End at Main Menu
- Auto Start to Main Menu and Stop
TPEX will create custom menus from provided backgrounds and buttons. Additional charges will apply for more than two menus. We accept the following image files: PSD, BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, and TIF.
The normal turnaround time for DVD mastering is 1 to 2 business days from receipt and approval of the video, audio, and image files.
